Water

Designing, permitting and supervising the construction of upgrades and improvements to the City’s Water Distribution System as well as the City’s Water Treatment Plant to ensure an adequate, clean and safe water supply for all present and future residents of Hallandale Beach.

Sanitary Sewer

Designing, permitting and supervising the construction of upgrades and improvements to the City’s sanitary sewer collection system and sewer lift stations.

 

Prepares studies, reports and recommendations geared towards assuring the continuing capacity of the City’s sewer system and environmental compliance with Federal and State Guidelines.

Stormwater Drainage

Designing, permitting, and supervising the construction of upgrades and improvements to the City’s stormwater drainage system and drainage canals.  Following are the responsibilities in this area: 

·         Ensuring compliance with the Federal Government’s NPDES permit for the discharge of storm water to surface waters and the Environmental Protection Agency’s requirements for discharge to ground water.

·         Review new development applications and building permits to ensure compliance with building and environmental codes for the retention of storm water on site.

·         Coordinate with FEMA to ensure City receives optimum flooding risk rating which allows property owners to receive flood insurance at discounted rates.
