Overview
The Stormwater Services section cleans, installs and maintains the City's storm water drainage system which is comprised of approximately 3000 drains. This section also maintains numerous pump stations. As mandated by the Department of Environmental Protection, the program includes continuous monitoring, sampling, testing and surveying of the storm drains.

The storm drains serve the purpose of alleviating flooding. From the storm drain, the water disperses into canals, lakes or into the ground.
After a major rain fall it takes a minimum of 24 hours for the waters to drain. If you still notice a substantial amount of standing water after the 24 hours period please call the City at (954) 457-1600.
